ENERGY SAFE

The ENERGY SAFE is a battery-backed static emergency power supply system designed to provide reliable power to safety-critical loads in buildings and infrastructure facilities. The system has been developed for applications where smoke extraction motors, CO₂ ventilation systems, smoke and heat exhaust systems and other safety-related equipment must continue operating reliably during a mains power failure.

A key advantage of the system is its ability to combine emergency power supply functions with dedicated emergency lighting circuits. This enables multiple safety-critical applications to be integrated into a single power supply concept, reducing the need for separate battery systems and dedicated technical rooms.

The system architecture consists of a rectifier with IU charging characteristics and a static inverter. During normal operation, connected loads are supplied from the public utility network while the batteries remain continuously charged. In the event of a power outage or undervoltage condition, the system automatically transfers the connected loads to battery-supported operation within a short switching time.

For maintenance purposes, a manual bypass is available to maintain power supply to connected loads during service procedures. In addition, the system supports time-delayed activation of multiple load circuits to reduce peak loads during startup. This makes ENERGY SAFE suitable for safety concepts with demanding requirements for reliability, operational continuity and compliant emergency power supply design.

  • the combination of emergency power supply and emergency lighting enables compact power protection concepts
  • the shared battery system reduces infrastructure requirements within the building
  • automatic transfer ensures reliable operation during power failures
  • high overload capability supports safe startup of demanding motor loads
  • time-delayed load activation reduces peak load demands
  • the integrated manual bypass simplifies maintenance procedures during operation
  • battery charging technology supports controlled battery management
  • flexible system configuration enables use across a wide range of building types
  • compliant system design supports safety-critical power supply concepts

ENERGY SAFE supports the planning of centralized emergency power supply systems for buildings with increased requirements for life safety and operational continuity. By combining safety-related loads and emergency lighting within a single system, technical infrastructure can be simplified while available space is used more efficiently.

For planners, the system offers advantages through the reduction of separate power supply installations and the integration of multiple safety functions into one coordinated concept. It is particularly suitable for public buildings, transportation infrastructure, educational facilities and healthcare environments where compliant emergency power supply systems are required.

ENERGY SAFE provides a structured foundation for implementing centralized emergency power systems. By combining multiple safety-critical applications within one installation, the need for additional dedicated power supply systems is reduced. The centralized architecture also simplifies long-term maintenance and system management.

The integrated manual bypass supports service activities without completely interrupting power to connected loads. When multiple load circuits are installed, time-delayed activation allows controlled startup of safety-related equipment. This simplifies implementation of complex safety concepts and supports reliable long-term operation.
